By accessing or using URUK Read at read.urukshelf.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
URUK Read is the reader-facing discovery layer for URUK Shelf, a multi-tenant e-commerce platform that powers independent publishers. When you place an order on URUK Read, the underlying transaction is between you and the publisher whose books you are buying. URUK acts as the platform provider.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Orders are processed through the publisher’s configured payment gateway. Prices are shown in the publisher’s currency at checkout. Applicable taxes and shipping fees are calculated based on your delivery address.
Each cart contains books from a single publisher. To order from multiple publishers, place separate orders.
Returns and refunds are handled by the publisher you ordered from, in line with their published policy. URUK can mediate disputes but is not the merchant of record. Damaged-on-arrival items are always replaced or refunded.
Books, descriptions, cover artwork, and any other content uploaded by a publisher belong to that publisher or its licensors. The URUK Read platform, design system, and software belong to URUK.
If you submit reviews, profile information, or any other content, you grant URUK a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and reformat that content for the operation of the Service.
You may not scrape the Service, resell access, infringe copyright, attempt to disrupt operations, or use the Service for unlawful purposes.
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, URUK is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
URUK may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. You may close your account at any time from your account settings.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where URUK is incorporated. Any dispute will be handled in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We will give reasonable notice of material changes by email or in-product notification.
